FOOD COMBINING MAY BE THE KEY FOR YOUR DIGESTIVE HEALTH – PART I (THE THEORY)

Have you ever thought that the way you combine your food may help or worsen your digestion?

Have you noticed that some meals creates you bloating, gass, delay in you digestion?

Are you constantly constipated?

Even if you are not having obvious signs of digestive impairment you should begin considering the way you combine your foods!

Especially those who face digestive problems should take seriously the idea of how to combine their foods in each meal.

But lets start explaining the idea behind food combining…

The food combining system, as a whole, is simple and easy to understand. It logically evolved from the study of gastric physiology and the actions of enzymes and digestive juices. It is not what we eat, but what we digest and assimilate, that determines the nourishment our bodies receive. Food combining is based on the discovery that certain combinations of food may be digested with greater ease and efficiency than others.

Correct food combinations result in an immediate improvement in health by lightening the load of the digestive organs. Better nutrition is assured, and there is better digestion, less fermentation and putrefaction, more comfort, less distress and less gas. So-called food allergies often disappear as a result of proper food combining.

Foods and our body

Food is any substance which is eventually convertible into such end-products as tissues, body fluids, etc., and can be utilized by the organism in the performance of its functions. Foods help you when you are oxidized, contribute decisively to growth, maintenance and repair. They are capable of being stored within the body and produce no nutritionally significant toxic effects.

Nutrients in foods are chemical substances of known composition and structure, classified as carbohydrates (such as sugar, starch and glycogen); lipids (fats); proteins (amino acids linked together); salts (minerals); and vitamins, needed in small quantities (or, traces) by the body. In addition, foods contain indigestible materials—cellulose (fiber).

Water, oxygen and vitamins, together with proteins, carbohydrates, fats and minerals, form the constituents of the body—the blood, tissue, bones, organs, muscles and so forth. Foods must be taken into the digestive tract and prepared for use by the organism before their constituents may be used by the body.

BASIC PHILOSOPHY IN FOOD COMBINATION

Food combination theory is based on the functioning of enzymes. Digestive enzymes are enzymes that break down foods into their smaller building blocks, in order to facilitate their absorption by the body.

Each digestive enzyme is specific in its action. It acts only upon one class of food substance. Each stage in the digestion of food requires the action of a different enzyme, and the various enzymes can perform their work efficiently only if the preceding work has been properly performed.

Body chemistry is, to a large extent, determined by the the food we eat. When certain foods are eaten regularly, the digestive enzymes and secretions are of a character to handle those foods. When the diet is altered, more and more of the digestive juices secreted will be of a character to digest the foods in the new diet, and less and less of the digestive juices will be of the character to digest the foods in the old diet.

The type of digestive juice fitted for the digestion of one type of food is of no value in digesting another type of food. Therefore, it is essential that food be taken in combinations that do not interfere with enzymatic action.

When two foods are eaten that have different or even opposite, digestive needs, the precise adjustment of digestive juices to meet requirements becomes impossible.

Digestive speed and efficiency vary with individuals and circumstances. However, certain general statements can be made:

  • Simple carbs, or sugars, only require one step for digestion, which is why they digest faster. An enzyme in the lining of the small intestine transforms sucrose into glucose and fructose to then be absorbed in that one step. (eg Juices and Water: 20-30 minutes, Soups, Fruits, Vegetables or Smoothies: 30-45 minute)
  • Complex carbs, or starches, require more steps to digest, and therefore digest more slowly than simple carbs. Complex carbs include starchy vegetables, legumes, whole-grain breads and cereals. The enzymes in saliva break complex carb molecules into maltose, which is a smaller and simpler molecule. Next, an enzyme in the small intestine’s lining splits maltose molecules into glucose molecules, which is then absorbed into the bloodstream. The blood transports glucose to the liver, where is is either used for energy or stored for later use. (eg Grains, Starches: 2-3 hours)
  • Protein requires more digestion time in the stomach than carbs. Giant protein molecules are in foods like beans, eggs and meat. Because the molecules are so large, it takes a longer process to break them down before they can be used as fuel. An enzyme in the stomach begins to digest protein. Protein molecules then move into the small intestine, where several more enzymes break down the molecules into amino acids. The smaller amino acid molecules pass through the walls of the small intestine to get into the bloodstream. When you run out of the energy you got from glucose, which started as carbs, your body turns to protein or fats for energy. This process is known as gluconeogenesis. To make more glucose from protein, the body converts amino acids into glucose to use for fuel. (eg Beans, Poultry, Meat, or Fish: more than three hours)
  • Fats take more time to digest than carbs or proteins. Fats pass through the stomach and into the small intestine as other nutrients do. The body breaks fat molecules into fatty acids and glycerowhich the villi in the small intestine can absorb. The fatty acids and glycerol travel to areas of the body for storage in cells or for use as energy. Your body can only use about five percent of absorbed fat for fuel by converting it to glucose. Your liver absorbs the rest of the glycerol and uses it to assist in breaking down glucose for energy.
  • Some foods may take five or six hours or more to leave the stomach. Some examples are combination starch/protein foods like legumes (including beans), grains, cooked cabbage and flesh foods.

Most digestion occurs in the stomach and small intestine. Digestion, especially starch digestion, actually begins in the mouth, with mastication and insalivation of the food. This sends the proper signals for the release of the digestive juices suited to the character of the food eaten. Digestive juices are present in the saliva and in the gastric secretions of about five million microscopic glands in the walls of the stomach.

Food Sequencing Is also very important: Organize your meals

A well ordered meal allows your digestive system to handle digestion more smoothly, with less time and more absorption of nutrients. A well ordered meal is one in which you introduce different foods systematically.

You should start by introducing the easiest or quickest to digest foods first and work your way up to the more complex. By doing this you keep foods that digest more easily flowing through your digestive system and prevent a “food traffic jam”.

Denser and less liquid foods are harder to digest and take longer to pass completely through the digestive system.

Think of your digestive system as a highway; if the slower vehicles are allowed to go first, the result will be a traffic jam. If the slower vehicles follow the faster vehicles you’re highway will run smoothly and efficiently.

It is important to note that when choosing a beverage, milk products are hard to digest and should be taken alone. The easiest type of beverage to digest is water or one high in water content.

Acidulus Enviroment – Free Radicals

Acidulous comes from Acid. It is also called acidic.

There are three states of acidity. pH (from potential of Hydrogen) is a measure of the acidity or alkalinity of a solution. Neutral (PH=7), Acidic (pH>7) and alkaline (pH<7) are these states.

It is a kind of norm which helps us to measure how “rusty” we are.

The pH value in a body is 7.35 to 7.45 which is slightly alkaline and that on the skin is 4.5 to 5.8 which is slightly acidic.

But what are free radicals?
When a molecule (a molecule consists of a number of atoms) or an atom loses (no matter how) an electron (electrons are round the atom’s nucleus and they always come in pairs) it becomes unstable. That is highly reactive and it is called “free radical“. The electron which is left alone needs to find another electron for the atom or molecule to become stable again.
Free radicals pick up electrons from other atoms and converts those other atoms into secondary free radicals and so on. This chain reaction can cause substantial biological damage and it is said to cause or to be determinant to many chronic diseases.
The combination of free radicals and heavy metals multiply the toxicity!
Symptoms that can make suspicious.
Symptoms due to acidulous environment can vary. Frequent Colds, Bronchitis, Infections, Headaches, skin abnormalities, Allergies, Chronic Fatigue, often Cramps, Law Energy can be some of them. Some of these symptoms are not always obvious but be sure that even if you don’t have one of the above acidic substances are everywhere and the best thing you can do is begin taking measures.


How exactly acidic environment harm?
After digesting the foods we eat there is a remain (characterized as “ash”) which is acidic, alkaline or neutral. When it is acidic and the acidity balance is disturbed then a number of serious illnesses may be caused. Usually people with MS have acidosis. The higher the ratio of alkaline elements in the diet, the faster will be the recovery. Alkalis neutralize the acids. Therefore in the treatment of most diseases it is important that the patient’s diet includes plenty of alkaline-ash foods to offset the effects of acid-forming foods and leave a safe margin of alkalinity.
What can I do?
You should be in a continuous effort of discarding free radicals.
The most important many people don’t know is drinking alkaline water! This is very very important to help your organism’s defense and provide an alkaline reserve in steady basis.

Antioxidant foods have basically an excess of electrons which can be offered in order to, let’s say, keep free radicals “busy” so that they don’t harm your healthy tissues. Foods rich in natural antioxidants are tomatoes, Spinach, Broccoli, Grapefruit, Cauliflower, Kiwi fruit, peppers and others. Fruits that have a rich color are high in phytonutrients. These are probably the best-known natural antioxidant known to us. Blueberries, spinach, carrots, apricots, cantaloupe and mangoes are also natural storehouses of antioxidants.

Vegetable oils such as olive oil, soybean oil, safflower oil provide natural antioxidants. Including antioxidant food such as garlic, chicken, eggs, salmon, tuna can help in boosting your body’s defense mechanism.
Bioflavonoids are found in fruits and vegetables and sulphur containing amino acids are found in fish, nuts and lean meat. Higher consumption of such foods is known to maintain and boost immune functions.
Using vitamin C as referred  in Dr Klenner’s protocol in mega doses (at least 1,5 grams daily – you can go up to 20 grams if necessary) is crucial. Also vitamin E, Copper, Selenium and Zinc are very important.
Other antioxidant enriching substances are green tea extract and flavonoids such as grape seed extract and red wine. Taking antioxidant supplements is not to create an artificial antioxidant defense system but instead to boost your body’s own enzymatic antioxidant defense system.

Searching through the internet you can find a list of food characterized as acidulous, alkaline or neutral. My opinion is not to follow all these to the letter. The key here is to have a balanced diet, the right ratio (about 4 part alkaline to 1 part acidic) which includes mostly alkaline foods (always according to your allergy/intolerance test – an alkaline food is not good for sure for everyone). REMEMBER THAT YOU DESPITE THE ADVANTAGES OR DISADVANTAGES YOU MAY FIND IN A FOOD OR SUBSTANCE YOU MAY BE ALLERGIC OR INTOLERANT TO IT!

Υπάρχουν τρεις καταστάσεις οξύτητας. Το pH (Πε-Χα από τα αρχικά της έννοιας δυναμικό Υδρογόνου στα Αγγλικά – Potential of Hydrogen) είναι ένα μέτρο της οξύτητας ή της αλκαλικότητας ενός διαλύμματος. Ουδέτερο (pH=7), Όξινο (pH<7) και Αλκαλικό (pH>7) είναι οι τρεις αυτές καταστάσεις.

Πρόκειται κατά κάποιο τρόπο για ένα μέτρο που δείχνει πόσο “σκουριασμένοι” είμαστε.

Η τιμή του pH εσωτερικά στο σώμα μας κυμαίνετι από 7.35 ως 7.45 σε φυσιολογικές συνθήκες που σημαίνει ότι μέσα μας υπάρχει ελαφρώς αλκαλικό περιβάλλον ενώ στο δέρμα η τιμή αυτή κυμαίνεται από 4.5 ως 5.8 δηλαδή έχουμε όξινο περιβάλλον.

Το όξινο περιβάλλον μέσα μας δημιουργείται από την υπερβολική παραγωγή ελευθέρων ριζών λόγω της περιβαλλοντικής μόλυνσης, κακής διατροφής, άγχους, καπνίσματος, αλκοόλ κα. Η παραγωγή ελευθέρων ριζών είναι κανονικά μια φυσιολογική δραστηριότητα. Οι ελεύθερες ρίζες χρησιμοποιούνται από το ανοσοποιητικό σύστημα του σώματος για να καταστρέψουν βακτηρίδια και ιούς που προκαλούν ζημίες. Όσο η διαδικασία αυτή ελέγχεται σωστά, είναι βασική για ένα υγιές σώμα. Γίνεται όμως καταστρεπτική και δημιουργεί πληθώρα θεμάτων που αφορούν την υγεία σε αντίθετη περίπτωση.

Παρακάτω ασκολουθεί άρθρο που εξηγεί με απλά λόγια τι είναι και πως λειτουργούν οι ελεύθερες ρίζες στον ανθρώπινο οργανισμό. Επίσης σύντομα αναδυκνείεται και ο αναντικτάστατος ρόλος των αντιοξειδωτικών που προτείνοντα και στη θεραπεία για τη ΣΚΠ μέσα από το πρωτόκολλο.

Οι ελεύθερες ρίζες είναι πολύ ασταθή μόρια , τα οποία αντιδρούν πολύ γρήγορα με άλλα μόρια, προσπαθώντας έτσι να πάρουν τα απαιτούμενα ηλεκτρόνια για να κερδίσουν την σταθερότητά τους, «κλέβοντας στην ουσία ηλεκτρόνια». Όταν το προσβαλλόμενο μόριο (από την ελεύθερη ρίζα) χάσει το ηλεκτρόνιό του, γίνεται κι αυτό ελεύθερη ρίζα, οπότε κι αυτό ξεκινά να ψάχνει να αντιδράσει με άλλο μόριο για να κερδίσει την σταθερότητά του. Άπαξ και η διαδικασία αυτή αρχίσει, παίρνει μορφή καταρράκτη, με τελικό αποτέλεσμα την ρήξη (βλάβη) του κυττάρου.

Μερικές ελεύθερες ρίζες ξεκινούν φυσιολογικά από τον μεταβολισμό. Μερικές φορές το ανοσολογικό μας σύστημα σκόπιμα δημιουργεί τις ελεύθερες ρίζες για να εξουδετερώσουν τους ιούς και τα βακτηρίδια. Ωστόσο περιβαλλοντικοί παράγοντες, όπως η μόλυνση, η ακτινοβολία, το κάπνισμα και τα ζιζανιοκτόνα μπορούν επίσης και γενούν ελεύθερες ρίζες.

Φυσιολογικά ο οργανισμός χειρίζεται τις ελεύθερες ρίζες, όμως αν δεν είναι διαθέσιμες αντιοξειδωτικές ουσίες ή αν η παραγωγή των ελεύθερων ριζών είναι μεγάλη, μπορεί να επέλθει βλάβη. Ακόμη μεγάλης σημασίας είναι το γεγονός ότι οι βλάβες από ελεύθερες ρίζες συσσωρεύονται με την ηλικία.

Η βιταμίνη C και Ε θεωρείται ότι προστατεύουν τον οργανισμό από τις βλαπτικές επιδράσεις των ελεύθερων ριζών οξυγόνου. Οι αντιοξειδωτικές ουσίες εξουδετερώνουν τις ελεύθερες ρίζες δίνοντας τα δικά τους ηλεκτρόνια, διακόπτοντας την αντίδραση κλοπής ηλεκτρονίων από τις ελεύθερες ρίζες. Οι ίδιες οι αντιοξειδωτικές ουσίες δεν γίνονται ελεύθερες ρίζες με την προσφορά των ηλεκτρονίων τους, επειδή είναι σταθερές και χωρίς τα ηλεκτρόνια αυτά. Αντιδρούν δηλαδή ως εκκαθαριστές (scavengers) βοηθώντας τα κύτταρα και τους ιστούς να μην υποστούν βλάβη και να μην οδηγηθούν σε κυτταρική βλάβη και νόσο. Η βιταμίνη Ε είναι η πλέον άφθονος λιποδιαλυτή βιταμίνη του οργανισμού και μία από τις πλέον αποτελεσματικές αντιοξειδωτικές ουσίες του. Πρωταρχικά προστατεύει έναντι της υπεροξείδωσης των λιπών, κατά την οποία σχηματίζονται μόρια ασταθή που περιέχουν περισσότερο οξυγόνο απ’ αυτό που χρειάζονται. Η βιταμίνη C είναι η πλέον άφθονη υδατοδιαλυτή βιταμίνη του οργανισμού. Δρα πρωταρχικά στο κυτταρόπλασμα των κυττάρων (κυρίως ειδική για τις ελεύθερες ρίζες που προέρχονται από το κάπνισμα). Βοηθά επίσης στην επαναφορά της βιταμίνης Ε στη δραστική της μορφή.

Διεξάγουμε συνεχώς ένα πόλεμο μέσα στον οργανισμό μας εναντίον του Νο 1 εχθρού της υγείας που είναι οι οξειδωτικές ουσίες και κυρίως οι ελεύθερες ρίζες. Κάθε ανθρώπινο κύτταρο αντιμετωπίζει ένα τεράστιο αριθμό επιθέσεων ανά ημέρα από ελεύθερες ρίζες. Γι΄ αυτό τα προληπτικά μέτρα είναι να μαχόμεθα αυτές τις ρίζες πριν μας βλάψουν. Οι ελεύθερες ρίζες έχουν ως μοναδικό τους στόχο να εισβάλλουν και να καταστρέψουν την υγεία των κύτταρων του σώματος κάνοντάς τα πιο ευάλωτα στις νόσους. Αυτός αποτελεί ένα αρνητικό παράγοντα που έχει πολύ μεγάλη σημασία στην υγεία μας.

Οι ελεύθερες ρίζες για να κερδίσουν την σταθερότητά τους είναι πάντοτε σε επαγρύπνηση να κλέψουν ηλεκτρόνια από μόρια όπως το DNA, λευκώματα και λίπη. Αυτές αδιακρίτως σκοτώνουν κύτταρα, καταστρέφουν ένζυμα και παράγουν τοξικά προϊόντα τα οποία προκαλούν βλάβες στην κυτταρική λειτουργία. Είναι μόρια που αντιδρούν έντονα και προκαλούν βλάβες στη φυσιολογική δομή του DNA, των λιπιδίων και των λευκωμάτων. Οι ελεύθερες ρίζες στον οργανισμό είναι τοξικές μορφές των μεταβολιτών του ενεργού οξυγόνου (reactive oxygen metabolites-ROM). Και είναι ειρωνικό ότι ένα μόριο όπως το οξυγόνο που μας στηρίζει στη ζωή, το ίδιο να είναι υπεύθυνο για πολλές αρρώστιες περιλαμβανομένης και της γήρανσης, του καρκίνου, των καρδιακών παθήσεων, των εγκεφαλικών κλπ.

Η βλάβη που γίνεται από τις ελεύθερες ρίζες είναι πολύ σημαντικές στο DNA. Βλάβη στη δομή του DNA μπορεί να ευθύνεται για μετάλλαξη ή και θάνατο του κυττάρου. Το DNA σταθερά βομβαρδίζεται από τις ελεύθερες ρίζες, όμως ο οργανισμός μας έχει ένζυμα και αντιοξειδωτικά μέσα, τα οποία σταθερά επίσης επισκευάζουν το DNA που έχει βλαβεί. Βέβαια τα παλαιοτέρα κύτταρα (γηρασμένα) δεν είναι ικανά να επισκευάσουν γρήγορα τη βλάβη και ο ρυθμός επισκευής είναι μικρότερος από τον ρυθμό βλάβης. Έτσι τα κύτταρα γηράσκουν πιο γρήγορα κι αυτό μπορεί να εξηγήσει την διαφορά στο προσδόκιμο επιβίωσης των ανθρώπων (παίζει δηλαδή ρόλο η ικανότητα του οργανισμού να επιδιορθώνει τις βλάβες του DNA από τις ελεύθερες ρίζες οξυγόνου).

Πώς σχηματίζονται οι ελεύθερες ρίζες οξυγόνου;

α) Η κύρια πηγή είναι η διαδικασία παραγωγής ενέργειας στα μιτοχόνδρια

β) Από τις τροφές που έχουν καταστρεπτικές δυνατότητες

γ) Κατά τη διάρκεια του μεταβολισμού των λιπών, των υδατανθράκων και των λευκωμάτων

δ) Από το stress (όλα τα χημικά και κάποιες ενδοκρινικές ορμόνες παράγουν ελεύθερες ρίζες οξυγόνου)

ε) Από την χαμηλή παροχή αίματος στους ιστούς (σε επεισόδια εμφράγματος, εγκεφαλικών επεισοδίων)

Ποιοί εξωτερικοί παράγοντες βοηθούν στην παραγωγή ελεύθερων ριζών;

α) Περιβαλλοντικοί επιβαρυντικοί παράγοντες (μόλυνση, καπνός τσιγάρων)

β) Ιονίζουσα και υπεριώδης ακτινοβολία

γ) Έντονη άσκηση

δ) Τοξικά χημικά και εντομοκτόνα και ζιζανιοκτόνα

ε) Προϊόντα πετρελαίου

ζ) Μη υγιεινές τροφές (λιπαρές δίαιτες, τηγανητά, ψημένα στα κάρβουνα κρεατικά)

η) Αλκοόλ και καφές

θ) Τοξικά προϊόντα που χρησιμοποιούνται στην επιπλοποιία (τολουένιο, βενζίνη, φορμαλδεΰδη)

Στον οργανισμό μας υπάρχουν γνωστά αντιοξειδωτικά συστήματα, όπως τα ιόντα υπεροξειδίου, τα υπεροξείδια του υδρογόνου, το υδροχλώριο, οι υδροξυλικές ρίζες και το νιτρικό οξείδιο. Το αντιοξειδωτικό σύστημα δουλεύει για να μας κρατά σε καλή κατάσταση την υγεία. Μας δίνει δύναμη και ικανότητα να αντισταθούμε σε νόσους της φθοράς και βοηθούν να πετύχουμε μακρά και καλή ζωή (υγιεινή). Στον οργανισμό μας παράγονται κάθε μέρα 1 τρισεκατομμύριο ελεύθερες ρίζες και αντιμετωπίζονται από το αντιοξειδωτικό μας σύστημα, ατυχώς όμως η δυνατότητες του συστήματος αυτού φθίνουν προϊούσης της ηλικίας. Έτσι η ενσωμάτωση στον οργανισμό μας αντιοξειδωτικών ουσιών μπορεί να αποτελεί μία καλή ευχή για όλους μας και ένα καλό βήμα για την υγεία μας.
Υδατοδιαλυτές αντιοξειδωτικές ουσίες-βιταμίνες-άλλα αντιοεξιδωτικά :

α) Υπεροξειδική δισμουτάση: Εμποδίζει τη βλάβη από τα γνωστά υπεροξείδια. Υπάρχει φυσιολογικά στο κριθάρι, τα μπρόκολα, τα λάχανα και πράσινα λαχανικά

β) Γλουταθειόνη : Είναι αμινοξύ που μετατρέπεται στον οργανισμό σε περοξειδάση της γλουταθειόνης, που είναι ισχυρός αντιοξειδωτικός παράγοντας. Φάρμακα όπως η ακεταμινοφαίνη και η ιβοπρουφαίνη εξαντλούν τα αποθέματα της γλουταθειόνης. Η γλουταθειόνη είναι πολύ σημαντικός εκκαθαριστής των κυττάρων και scavenger των ελεύθερων ριζών.

γ) Βιταμίνη Α: Η βιταμίνη Α και η πρόδρομος ουσία της καροτένη είναι ισχυροί εκκαθαριστές των ελεύθερων ριζών οξυγόνου.

δ) Βιταμίνη C: Η βιταμίνη C είναι ισχυρός αντιοξειδωτικός παράγοντας. Συνδυαζόμενη με βιοφλαβινοειδή γίνεται πιο ισχυρή αντιοξειδωτική ουσία.

ε) Βιταμίνη Ε: Είναι ισχυρός αντιοξειδωτικός παράγοντας και παρεμποδίζει την οξείδωση των λιπών (η οξειδωμένη LDL ευθύνεται για την σκλήρυνση των αρτηριών). Βελτιώνει επίσης την χρήση του οξυγόνου, αυξάνει την ικανότητα του ανοσολογικού συστήματος και είναι χρήσιμη στην παρεμπόδιση του καταρράκτη που προκαλείται από τις ελεύθερες ρίζες οξυγόνου.

στ) Πράσινο τσάι: Περιέχει κατεχίνη η οποία είναι σημαντικό συστατικό με αντιοξειδωτικές επιδράσεις και η οποία πρέπει να προστατεύει από τον καρκίνο, μειώνει την χοληστερίνη και βοηθά στην καύση των λιπών και μάχεται την πνευματική κόπωση.

Chelation and the Klenner Protocol

The truth is that it has not been precisely justified how the combination of the constituents of the protocol works for MS. Scientific research, profit-oriented, CRAB – centered and guided, is not able and above all it doesn’t aim at providing reasonable responses. Nevertheless, one can make several hypotheses about each suggested constituent by analyzing its properties and draw secure conclusions based on scientific research.

Fish Oil has known anti inflammation effects in blood and tissues. “The United States is set to receive as many as 600 million doses of swine flu vaccine, enough for 300 million Americans. Health care workers are one of four “top priority” groups that stand to receive the swine flu vaccine first (the other three are pregnant women, children with chronic health conditions, and adults with chronic health conditions), under the premise that they will be more likely to be exposed to the virus and need to stay healthy to provide care.

Well, the fact that less than half of nearly 400 hospital workers questioned planned to accept the swine flu shot is very telling, though not surprising considering the majority of health care workers also refuse the seasonal flu shot. The most common reason given for refusal, and rightfully so, was potential side effects, followed by questions about the vaccine’s efficacy.

Even among a focus group of 85 people, very few said they would get vaccinated in the event of a pandemic. Again, many noted the risks involved in using newly developed vaccines that are rushed to market as a primary concern. Many also believed, correctly I might add, that they could protect themselves through their own behavior, including:

Frequent handwashing

Staying away from crowded places and sick people

Eating well to maintain their immune system

These sentiments are right on, as it is the health of your immune system, which is primarily controlled by your lifestyle habits, that will keep you healthy during a flu outbreak. A vaccine is not the answer, and in fact can cause many other health problems.

Fortunately, this site, and many others seeking to shed light on this deceptive manipulation about the swine flu, are making a huge impact and people are refusing to believe the government propaganda.

Vaccine safety advocates everywhere are beginning to make a serious dent. According to a recent Fox News poll, the majority of people in the U.S. now believe the swine flu vaccine may be deadlier than the actual virus.

Why the Swine Flu Vaccine is a Disaster Waiting to Happen

Count yourself lucky that you still have a choice about whether or not to receive a swine flu vaccine … as I would no sooner choose to get this shot than I would run through a field full of landmines.

For starters, the swine flu vaccine contains dangerous additives such as mercury and squalene, which has been linked to the development of autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis and lupus.

Further, senior neurologists sent a confidential letter to the UK government warning that the swine flu vaccine has been linked to a deadly nerve disease known as Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS). GBS attacks the lining of your nerves, causing paralysis and inability to breathe, and can be fatal.

German lung specialist Wolfgang Wodarg has also come out about even more potential health risks associated with the swine flu vaccine. According to Dr. Wodarg, the swine flu vaccine contains animal cancer cells, and there’s no data indicating whether or not this may cause an allergic reaction when injected.

It also raises questions about the risk of contracting cancer.

Likewise, Johannes Löwer, president of the Paul Ehrlich Institute, believes the side effects of the vaccine can be far worse than the actual swine flu virus, which typically causes only mild symptoms, requiring just a few days in bed.
Swine Flu is Typically NOT Serious

Media reports sensationalizing the “death toll” that could come from the swine flu are just that: sensationalized.

As you may already know, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) consistently claim the seasonal flu kills about 36,000 Americans each year. After investigating that figure, it has been found to be a gross exaggeration based on flawed data compilation, but still, the swine flu has claimed FAR fewer lives than the seasonal flu in any given year, and no draconian measures have ever been taken to curtail the seasonal flu.

Dr. Wodarg told the German press that the widespread fear of the pandemic was an “orchestration,” stating:

“It is great business for the pharmaceutical industry. Swine flu is not very different from normal flu. On the contrary, if you look at the number of cases it is nothing compared to a normal flu outbreak.”

Before you accept a vaccination, or allow your child to receive one, it’s always wise to examine the benefits versus the risks. In the case of swine flu, most often the symptoms are mild and resolve on their own. But no one yet knows what side effects could come from taking the swine flu vaccine.

Fortunately, for now the vaccine is still voluntary but there has been talk that it may become mandatory. Squalene: The Swine Flu Vaccine’s Dirty Little Secret Exposed

According to Kathleen Sebelius, Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, your children should be the first target for mass swine flu vaccinations when school starts this fall. [i]

This is a ridiculous assumption for many reasons, not to mention extremely high risk.

In Australia, where the winter season has begun, Federal Health Minister Nicola Roxon is reassuring parents the swine flu is no more dangerous than regular seasonal flu. “Most people, including children, will experience very mild symptoms and recover without any medical intervention,” she said.[ii]

Sydney-based immunization specialist Robert Booy predicts swine flu might be fatal to about twice as many children in the coming year as regular influenza. Booy estimates 10-12 children could die from the H1N1 virus, compared with the five or six regular flu deaths seen among children in an average year in Australia.[iii]

“Cure the Disease, Kill the Patient”

Less than 100 children in the U.S. die each year from seasonal flu viruses.[iv] If we use Australia’s math, a very rough estimate would be another 100 children could potentially die of swine flu in the United States in the coming year.

If children are the first target group in the U.S. per Sebelius, that means we’re about to inject around 75 million children with a fast tracked vaccine containing novel adjuvants, including dangerous squalene, to prevent perhaps 100 deaths.

I’m not overlooking the tragedy of the loss of even one child to an illness like the H1N1 flu virus. But there can be no argument that unnecessary mass injection of millions of children with a vaccine containing an adjuvant known to cause a host of debilitating autoimmune diseases is a reckless, dangerous plan.

Why are Vaccinations Dangerous?

The presumed intent of a vaccination is to help you build immunity to potentially harmful organisms that cause illness and disease. However, your body’s immune system is already designed to do this in response to organisms which invade your body naturally.

Most disease-causing organisms enter your body through the mucous membranes of your nose, mouth, pulmonary system or your digestive tract – not through an injection.

These mucous membranes have their own immune system, called the IgA immune system. It is a different system from the one activated when a vaccine is injected into your body.

Your IgA immune system is your body’s first line of defense. Its job is to fight off invading organisms at their entry points, reducing or even eliminating the need for activation of your body’s immune system.

When a virus is injected into your body in a vaccine, and especially when combined with an immune adjuvant like squalene, your IgA immune system is bypassed and your body’s immune system kicks into high gear in response to the vaccination.

Injecting organisms into your body to provoke immunity is contrary to nature, and vaccination carries enormous potential to do serious damage to your health.

And as if Vaccines Weren’t Dangerous Enough on Their Own …

… imagine them turbocharged.

The main ingredient in a vaccine is either killed viruses or live ones that have been attenuated (weakened and made less harmful).

Flu vaccines can also contain a number of chemical toxins, including ethylene glycol (antifreeze), formaldehyde, phenol (carbolic acid) and even antibiotics like Neomycin and streptomycin.

In addition to the viruses and other additives, many vaccines also contain immune adjuvants like aluminum and squalene.

The purpose of an immune adjuvant added to a vaccine is to enhance (turbo charge) your immune response to the vaccination. Adjuvants cause your immune system to overreact to the introduction of the organism you’re being vaccinated against.

Adjuvants are supposed to get the job done faster (but certainly not more safely), which reduces the amount of vaccine required per dose, and the number of doses given per individual.

Less vaccine required per person means more individual doses available for mass vaccination campaigns. Coincidentally, this is exactly the goal of government and the pharmaceutical companies who stand to make millions from their vaccines.

Will There Be Immune Adjuvants in Swine Flu Vaccines?

The U.S. government has contracts with several drug companies to develop and produce swine flu vaccines. At least two of those companies, Novartis and GlaxoSmithKline, are using an adjuvant in their H1N1 vaccines.

The adjuvant? Squalene.

According to Meryl Nass, M.D., an authority on the anthrax vaccine,

“A novel feature of the two H1N1 vaccines being developed by companies Novartis and GlaxoSmithKline is the addition of squalene-containing adjuvants to boost immunogenicity and dramatically reduce the amount of viral antigen needed. This translates to much faster production of desired vaccine quantities.”[v]

Novartis’s proprietary squalene adjuvant for their H1N1 vaccine is MF59. Glaxo’s is ASO3. MF59 has yet to be approved by the FDA for use in any U.S. vaccine, despite its history of use in other countries.

Per Dr. Nass, there are only three vaccines in existence using an approved squalene adjuvant. None of the three are approved for use in the U.S.


What Squalene Does to Rats

Oil-based vaccination adjuvants like squalene have been proved to generate concentrated, unremitting immune responses over long periods of time.[vi]

A 2000 study published in the American Journal of Pathology demonstrated a single injection of the adjuvant squalene into rats triggered “chronic, immune-mediated joint-specific inflammation,” also known as rheumatoid arthritis.[vii]

The researchers concluded the study raised questions about the role of adjuvants in chronic inflammatory diseases.

What Squalene Does to Humans

Your immune system recognizes squalene as an oil molecule native to your body. It is found throughout your nervous system and brain. In fact, you can consume squalene in olive oil and not only will your immune system recognize it, you will also reap the benefits of its antioxidant properties.

The difference between “good” and “bad” squalene is the route by which it enters your body. Injection is an abnormal route of entry which incites your immune system to attack all the squalene in your body, not just the vaccine adjuvant.

Your immune system will attempt to destroy the molecule wherever it finds it, including in places where it occurs naturally, and where it is vital to the health of your nervous system.[viii]

Gulf War veterans with Gulf War Syndrome (GWS) received anthrax vaccines which contained squalene.[ix] MF59 (the Novartis squalene adjuvant) was an unapproved ingredient in experimental anthrax vaccines and has since been linked to the devastating autoimmune diseases suffered by countless Gulf War vets.[x]

The Department of Defense made every attempt to deny that squalene was indeed an added contaminant in the anthrax vaccine administered to Persian Gulf war military personnel – deployed and non-deployed – as well as participants in the more recent Anthrax Vaccine Immunization Program (AVIP).

However, the FDA discovered the presence of squalene in certain lots of AVIP product. A test was developed to detect anti-squalene antibodies in GWS patients, and a clear link was established between the contaminated product and all the GWS sufferers who had been injected with the vaccine containing squalene.

A study conducted at Tulane Medical School and published in the February 2000 issue of Experimental Molecular Pathology included these stunning statistics:

“ … the substantial majority (95%) of overtly ill deployed GWS patients had antibodies to squalene. All (100%) GWS patients immunized for service in Desert Shield/Desert Storm who did not deploy, but had the same signs and symptoms as those who did deploy, had antibodies to squalene.

In contrast, none (0%) of the deployed Persian Gulf veterans not showing signs and symptoms of GWS have antibodies to squalene. Neither patients with idiopathic autoimmune disease nor healthy controls had detectable serum antibodies to squalene. The majority of symptomatic GWS patients had serum antibodies to squalene.”[xi]

According to Dr. Viera Scheibner, Ph.D., a retired principle research scientist for the government of Australia:

“… this adjuvant [squalene] contributed to the cascade of reactions called “Gulf War Syndrome,” documented in the soldiers involved in the Gulf War.

The symptoms they developed included arthritis, fibromyalgia, lymphadenopathy, rashes, photosensitive rashes, malar rashes, chronic fatigue, chronic headaches, abnormal body hair loss, non-healing skin lesions, aphthous ulcers, dizziness, weakness, memory loss, seizures, mood changes, neuropsychiatric problems, anti-thyroid effects, anaemia, elevated ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate), systemic lupus erythematosus, multiple sclerosis, ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), Raynaud’s phenomenon, Sjorgren’s syndrome, chronic diarrhoea, night sweats and low-grade fevers.”[xii]

Post Vaccination Follow-Up Might as Well Be Non-Existent

There is virtually no science to support the safety of vaccine injections on your long-term health or the health of your children. Follow-up studies last on average about two weeks, and look only for glaring injuries and illnesses.

Autoimmune disorders like those seen in Gulf War Syndrome frequently take years to diagnose due to the vagueness of early symptoms. Complaints like headaches, fatigue and chronic aches and pains are symptoms of many different illnesses and diseases.

Don’t hold your breath waiting for vaccine purveyors and proponents to look seriously at the long-term health consequences of their vaccination campaigns.
